Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table specifically designed for your comfort. Just nestle in and enjoy!
The practioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table and cover yourself with clean towels.
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client wearing underclothes, however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be properly draped during the session.
Yes. You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
You and your therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of your body require massage. A typical full body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders.
Make yourself comfortable. Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during the session Feel free to ask your therapist questions about massage or the particular technique you are receiving. The important thing is to enjoy the treatment the way that works best for you.
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity/injuries. After the initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, greater productivity and heightened awareness which can last for days. It is recommended you drink plenty of water after your session to help keep your body flushed out and moving freely.
If you have any other concerns or question before receiving bodywork, please do not hesitate to talk with your therapist prior to your treatment.
Reflexology gives the body the "time out" that it needs in order for it to be able to heal itself.
You will lie or sit on a comfortable massage table in a warm, comfortable room with relaxing music playing. All you need to do is relax.
The feet and lower legs are all that needs to be massaged or worked upon so your legs (and body) can remain clothed at all times.
Usually a foot reflexology session lasts about an hour depending on the age and state of health of the person receiving the treatment. First sessions tend to be longer as the practitioner needs to take a case history prior to any treatment.
The exact number of sessions required depends upon several factors including the condition being addressed and the healing response of the individual. A minimum of 3-4 sessions are usually recommended, however chronic conditions may take longer to respond.
As blockages clear and the body reaches a state of balance the sessions would be cut back to fortnightly, monthly or whenever the client feels the need. It is generally recommended that sessions should be at least a few days apart to allow the body time to adjust to the changes that are taking place as toxins released from congested systems are processed and eliminated.
One of the greatest Reiki health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation ,which triggers the body's natural healing abilities and improves and maintains your health.
Even healthy people benefit from Reiki as it brings a higher awareness to one's thoughts, behaviours and choices, which can strengthen the immune system and increase an overall feeling of wellness.
Reiki is very relaxing and is usually performed while you lie on a comfortable table, close your eyes and relax. The therapist will move her hands to several areas of your (clothed) body, depending on the reason for your visit
Reiki is an energy that "works"with us on many levels. Using certain touch points on the body, a gentle technique is used to channel Reiki's healing energy to the client through the practitioners hands. Reiki restores balance and harmony on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
A full body treatment is administered through the client's clothing and lasts approximately one hour.
